Language, units, time zone and week

Profile is where the app becomes yours. Open it with your avatar at the top of any main screen. Most personal settings are under Preferences.

Language

Keep Growing speaks English, עברית (Hebrew), Русский (Russian) and العربية (Arabic). Hebrew and Arabic read right to left, and the whole app mirrors for them: the back arrows, the swipes and the tab layout all flip.

  1. Open Profile, then Preferences, then Language.
  2. Pick Automatic or one language.

Automatic follows your phone's language. Where your language is not offered yet, the app shows English. Your choice is saved on your account, so it follows you to other devices.

The language also decides:

  • the language of reminder notifications, which we write in your account's language;
  • the language of account emails (the confirmation and password reset emails), which follow your choice, or your device's language if you never chose.

What you type is never translated: plant names, notes, places, tags and posts stay exactly as you wrote them, and so do other people's.

Time zone

Preferences, Timezone controls when reminders arrive. Search by city ("Tel Aviv"), country ("Israel"), the zone's name, or an offset such as "+3". Your device's zone is listed first. Under the chosen zone the sheet tells you what time it is "now" in that zone and, when there is a daylight saving change coming, when it switches.

You always save a place and not an offset, so reminders keep arriving at the same local time after the clocks change.

If you never picked a zone, turning on reminders adopts your device's zone. A zone you picked yourself is never replaced.

First day of the week

Preferences, First day of the week decides where the Calendar's week begins and how your weekly streak is counted. Automatic follows your device's region (for example Sunday in many countries, Monday in others), and the row shows what it resolves to. You can also choose Sunday, Monday or Saturday.

Units

Preferences, Units sets how amounts and temperatures are shown:

  • Volume: millilitres (ml) or litres (L), for the amount of water you log.
  • Temperature: Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F), for a plant's ideal temperature range.

Appearance

Appearance has three choices: Light, Dark and System, which follows your phone.

Logging

Under Logging, Quick log with one tap makes Water, Check soil and Feed log at once with an Undo, instead of opening the Log care sheet. It is off by default. Details are in Log watering, fertilizing and photos.

Your name and avatar

Press Edit at the top of Profile to change the name and avatar. They appear next to your posts in groups, beside "by" in a shared household, and on your shared plants in Community.

Your password and signing out

To change a forgotten or old password, use Forgot password? on the log in page: we email you a link that sets a new one, valid for an hour. Log out is the last row of Profile.

Install the app

When your browser can install Keep Growing, Profile has an Install Keep Growing row under About. On iPhone the steps are in the reminders guide.
